If your job requires that you stay informed on District environmental regulations and building management best practices, or if you are interested in energy incentives and financing, this workshop's for you.

Who Should Attend?

Building engineers and maintenance staff, developers, contractors, and stakeholders interested in air quality regulations, hazardous waste requirements and best practices, DCSEU energy incentives, and PACE financing.

 

All workshop participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance.

Stephen S. Ours, P.E.

Chief, Permitting Branch, Air Quality Division, DOEE

With a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia, Mr. Ours has more than 19 years of experience implementing air quality permitting and regulatory programs.

Joanna Vivanco

Environmental Protection Specialist, Compliance and Enforcement Branch, Air Quality Division, DOEE

EPA certified Asbestos Inspector for over seven years, working in the DOEE's Asbestos Program for almost two years ensuring that DC licensed asbestos abatement contractors conduct work protecting their own health and safety, and the health and safety of building occupants and the general public, by complying with federal and DC regulations.

Victoria North

Environmental Protection Specialist, Hazardous Waste, Toxic Substances Division, DOEE

Ms. North has over eight years of experience providing outreach information related to Hazardous Waste to a variety of businesses.

Lauren Linville

Environment Protection Specialist, Watershed Protection Division, DOEE

Ms. Linville coordinates the RiverSmart Homes program, which offers incentives to private property owners to manage stormwater runoff.

Giuls Kunkel

Manager, Account Management
District of Columbia Sustainable Energy Utility (DCSEU)

 

Ms. Kunkel is the Service Provider Manager for the DCSEU. Cameron oversees engagement with the design & engineering firms, suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors to ensure their success in the DC Market.

Upasana Kaku

Senior Analyst, Urban Ingenuity - Program Administrator for the DC Property Assessed Clean Energy (DC PACE) program

Ms. Kaku is a Senior Analyst at Urban Ingenuity, the program administrator for the DC PACE program.  She assists building owners and managers, contractors, and other service providers with the PACE application process and helps them secure financing for energy and water saving projects.

Katie Bergfeld

Energy Program Specialist, Energy Administration, DOEE

Ms. Bergfeld is an Energy Program Specialist at DOEE. Coming to the agency with 10 years of experience in green building, she manages the District’s energy benchmarking regulation, which requires large commercial building owners to annually measure and report their energy usage to DOEE.

Mary Lynn Wilhere

Sustainable Business Programs,

Urban Sustainability Administration, DOEE

Ms. Wilhere has more than 25 years experience working with businesses on both voluntary and regulatory issues.  She helps businesses to reduce their environmental footprint.
